What does woof training involve?

Canine education covers all aspects of dog training. Training is important for several reasons, including ensuring safety at home, improving the quality of day-to-day life, and enabling dogs and their human companions to live together in harmony. We tailor our advice and guidance to the needs of both your woof and you. Together, we’ll define your training priorities and make a pawfect plan of action.

We offer classes for puppies that focus on four main areas:

Familiarisation and stress management: Discovery of our world while taking into account the dog’s emotional state

Socialisation between dogs: Rules and advice for keeping a woof sociable with other dogs that it meets

Dog behaviour at home: Defining basic rules, setting expectations, welcoming puppies, entertaining guests, giving basic commands, dealing with cleanliness, preventing destruction and chewing of inappropriate objects, etc.

Prevention of other problems: Separation anxiety when their owner is elsewhere, poor self-control and independence when left alone, resource guarding, attacks on other animals, biting or snapping, reactive behaviours with children, etc.

We also offer training for adult woofs according to their human’s needs. This could include, for example:

Basic commands: Sit, down, stay, drop an object, focus, etc.

Reading the dog’s emotions: Signs of discomfort, subtle communication signals

Natural recall and follow-up: Returning to their owner when asked

Walking on a lead without pulling

Self-control: Waiting calmly, as well as no jumping, stealing objects, or pulling, etc.

Walking to heel

Tracking and games

Dog Training

Learn about woof wellbeing

Managing a dog’s emotions is all about helping them feel secure and confident in their environment. Our goal is to gradually expand your dog's comfort zone while ensuring everyone’s safety along the way.

We start with a thorough assessment to really understand what's behind your woof's behaviour. Whether it's frustration, stress, or protective instincts, we pinpoint the emotion driving the actions and find the best approach to resolve the issue.

After the assessment, we'll work together with you to create a plan of priorities and goals. Through gradual desensitisation—a slow, respectful exposure to the triggers—we teach your dog the right behaviours and emotional coping techniques. Every step is taken with the woof's wellbeing in mind, and by focusing on small successes, we keep motivation high and build a strong sense of trust between you and your dog.

Need help with your dog's behaviour?

Dog training is essential not only for teaching good behaviour but also for strengthening the bond between you and your dog. Through consistent training, dogs learn to understand your expectations, while you gain insight into their needs and communication cues. This mutual understanding fosters trust and deepens the emotional connection, making the relationship more fulfilling for both you and your dog. A well-trained woof feels more secure and confident, leading to a happier, more harmonious companionship that enhances both of your daily lives!
